Your daughter may become a member of Gamma Phi Beta's Sorority, one of the 10 oldest women's organizations in North America. We believe that you will appreciate the many advantages that your daughter will experience as a member of Gamma Phi Beta. History Gamma Phi Beta was founded November 11, 1874 at Syracuse University in Syracuse, New York. We were the first women's fraternal group to be called a sorority! Today, Gamma Phi Beta has over 163 collegiate chapters and over 240 alumnae groups throughout the United States and Canada with more than 200,000 members worldwide. Read more about our history. How to Get Involved The Crescent Magazine -- You will receive your daughter's copy of The Crescent until she graduates. We urge you to read it and discover more about Gamma Phi Beta's current issues, new chapters, and members' activities. The Web Site -- Through Gamma Phi Beta's website you can see the latest news, updates, and a list of licensed vendors to order merchandise from. Parents Clubs -- Parents Clubs exist to encourage friendships between Gamma Phi Beta parents and nearby collegiate and alumnae chapter members. Parents are able to share in their daughter's sorority experiences while providing support for the chapter's activities. International Headquarters for further information. Become a ΓΦΒ as an Alumnae!! Academic Achievement -- Scholastic achievement is one of the Sorority's greatest emphases. Gamma Phi Beta offers undergraduate members support in their studies through structured programming, resources and mentoring. SisterLink -- Gamma Phi Beta offers a global resource network that connects members interested in career networking, mentoring, traveling and relocation assistance. Leadership Development and Education -- Membership in Gamma Phi Beta provides your daughter the opportunity to attain and exercise leadership skills that will benefit her for a lifetime. Our Regional Leadership Conferences (RLCs) and biennial Convention are open to all Gamma Phi Beta members. These events offer leadership training through workshops, as well as career networking with other women. Personal and Chapter Enrichment -- The PACE program provides educational programming on issues and challenges collegiate members face today- from resume writing and career planning to diet and healthy living. Philanthropic Involvement -- Gamma Phi Beta and Camp Fire USA, one of the nation's leading nonprofit, coeducational youth development organizations, are pleased to announce their joint collaboration in providing camping experiences for girls that will enhance and enrich their lives. Camping has been the international philanthropic focus of Gamma Phi Beta since 1929. In this endeavor, the Sorority's mission is to provide experiences and resources that build spiritual, mental and social resiliency in girls. Together, these experiences help Camp Fire USA achieve its mission of building caring, confident youth and future leaders. Commitment Sisterhood -- Your daughter's pledge to Gamma Phi Beta including dedicating a portion of her time each week to the Sorority. This includes going to new member meetings, PACE and community service events. Additional activities such as social events and campus events are also scheduled throughout the year. Responsibilities -- Prior to her initiation, your daughter will complete the following: *Participate in the new member education program.*Demonstrate the desire and ability to maintain Gamma Phi Beta's standards of conduct.
*Fulfill her financial obligations.
