Philanthropy

National Philanthropy
Recently Gamma Phi Beta collaborated with Camp Fire USA to provide experiences and resources that build spiritual, mental and social resiliency in girls. Camp Fire USA has been connecting kids and youth with camping since 1910 to help youth work within a group, make friends, build self-esteem and make good decisions. Together, these experiences help Camp Fire USA achieve its mission of building caring, confident youth and future leaders.

Gamma Phi Beta Sorority ensures the success of its camping philanthropy through the provision of volunteers/mentors and, most importantly, by funding camp scholarships for young girls in need.

Since its adoption as the Sorority's international philanthropy at the 1929 Convention, special camping for girls has served as a unique philanthropy that has continually adapted to the times and needs of society. To find a camp in your area, please check with the American Camping Association.

Local Philanthropy:

2006: We have started a Greek-wide Penny Wars for people in the hospital, as well as collecting tabs for the Ronald McDonald House. July 29th we helped Ahimsa House and the Braves Foundation collecting donations for raffle tickets to win game-worn Braves jerseys signed by the player!

Nov./Dec. 2005: Gamma Phi Beta takes part with Operation Christmas Child to give children a better holiday.

July 30, 2005:We had a BLAST working with Hands on Atlanta and the Braves Foundation collecting donations for raffle tickets to win game-worn Braves jerseys signed by the player! Thank you to all who participated with us!

Each spring we try to make Easter baskets to donate to underprivileged children in Cobb County and the surrounding areas. If you are interested in donating money for this project, or helping us prepare the baskets, please contact us and thank you.

In October 2003 we raised money for AID Atlanta and walked in the AIDS Walk, a 10k walkathon benefiting AID Atlanta and 16 other AIDS service organizations throughout the Atlanta area. We also collaborate with the Marine Toys for Tots during the winter, along with working with the Wellness Center at SPSU by supporting their alcohol awareness programs.
